Hello From South Carolina

Hello Team
I know some of you from other boards. Especially Theresa Peterson, I’ve read a lot of her posts/advice and think she is spot-on. I think the Gods are smiling on you now; she is dedicated to helping others and a wealth of knowledge.

My wife (also named Teresa) and I own a Post Construction Services company in Greenville, SC, we service commercial and custom residential builders. My wife’s side of the family are all builders. I also have residential builder’s licenses and build a couple houses each year with my brother-in-law. My mother-in-law has owned a PCC business for 35 years.

I closed down my consulting business 3 years ago to help my wife full time and spend more time at home with the family. My background has been in sporting goods marketing/brand development and product development. My wife is the cleaning expert.

I hope I can learn and assist anyone here, wishing to build their dream.

Drew

I moved it Drew, since it was basically a letter to me and did not really involve the members of this board.

Oh soon T,

But I have to be careful, I have a tendency to lecture instead of empower. My intensions to incite and compel people to take action, sometimes fails our cleaning audience.

I'm finding out its not a slam-dunk like my consulting clients.

I know what you mean, I too have run into many a glazed look, when I speak myself. Esspecially when I expound the need for proper business foundations being established prior to charging your first customer for work, or the proper classification of empoyees

Good one Drew!! Damn you Theresa.lmao I actually didn't know about the pm on here, or atleast forgot about it at the time. By the way...it wasn't MY post that was deleted...I just thought it was wrong for doing that to him...either kick him off or let him post. Don't go both ways. NO jokes!! lol

Another bad thing is when people ASK a question and 5 minutes later when I am finished explaining it they have no clue what I was talking about. Atleast on here we can skim through it if we are lost....type your heart out!

T-
I understand what you’re saying. But that doesn’t bother me as much. A lot of people don’t have the benefit of corporate exposure or training. Sometimes in the beginning they have to find their own way by trial and error. It’s three years into business and they are still pulling that crap, that’s when my patience is thin.

I always remember what my Scottish mother would say, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink".

Hey Drew, Theresa, &Sprint! I agree with ya - I've spent way too much time over the years trying to help those who were argumentive to the point of self-defeat.....and at some point you ask yourself - WHY ?

Why???????

Because for every 1 argumentive there are 20 others who earnestly want to learn.

Don't let the bad ones get you down

Right, Drew - I'm a southerner who knows what that saying means !
And sadly, it is correct. Theresa and I were emailing about that very same thing just yesterday.......

And T - I won't stop being involved and trying....only occasionally get locked onto a real bonehead who needs help but won't accept real help when they find it - dumbfounded why he/ she can't continue doing things the same way that led them into a blind alley, yet get different results.......the quintessential definition of insanity..

Just to set a few things straight about the other board. I didn't leave because of any poster. I would have went back but John posted that I titled my thread wrong and that it wasn't a huge problem. So I just wanted to show him that is was a big problem. Oh well...as long as I'm having fun thats all I worry about. If only I could get everyone else on the 'fun' band wagon
