Hi Phylo

Disclaimer: my opinion only

I believe you would do much better to start your own cleaning business without any franchise strings attached.
Everything a franchise can do, you can do. You need knowledge, there are a hundred useful books out there that will give you that: Cleaning Up For a Living by Don Aslett, The Janitorial Contractor's Bible by Robert Jack Kravitz. Forrest Farmer (of clean pro industries) has a whole series of books on janitorial cleaning techniques, marketing techniques, as well as bidding a pricing. I have his "sales and marketing for janitorial services businesses" - it has bidding charts and cover letters, you name it. You need a website, you can pay someone to design it for you or design it yourself. I designed my website with $40 website software. After only 3 months of seo work, I am #1 on google for all my keywords.

Believe me, everything you need to learn how to do, you can do so for very little money. Hard work and an inquisitive mind will take you far. Many franchises are only too happy to take your money and provide you with as little as possible in return.

read this before you talk to franchise representatives: franchise scams
