New Company...Tell me what you think

Hello everyone! I'm Greg my wife's name is Jamie. We are curently getting ready to start a residental, office, new construction cleaning business. Just a little background. I'm a flooring installer specializing in Ceramic Tile in East centrall Illinois ( College Town). I have been with my company for 12 years now and have gotten to know many contractors and home owners over the time. I'm planning on using my Employer for a lot of advertizing such as leaving businees cards at jobs and putting them on display at the showroom and using their Marquee for a week or two. I have already gotten an " I'd hire ya" from one contractor for new construction cleaning. We work for very high end people and most homes i'm in are from $400,000- $1,000,000. My wife has cleaned homes with her mom for 13 years on and off and a few houses on her own here and there. So right now i'm not planning on living off this business by any means but would like to within the next 5 years or so ( My knees hurt lol). Anyway thanks for having us and like always any hints , suggestions, or problems u see arising let us know.

No experience necessary, common sense required

Now I am at the point of where and how far to take it. At the beginning I just did the cleaning to fit Round my son, as I am a single parent. All my work come via WORD OF MOUTH.. I have a website but do not generate many customers from it. So really, I need advise on how to develops my business to the next level. All advise sincerely welcome.

my stepdad and i did tile for a few seasons but those knee pains! no thanks

it sounds like you should get yourself a nice logo... something that makes you look very premium, you'll need thick business cards too, that will make you stand out and since you perform a service the thicker cards are proven to be more effective

something to consider would be a business card with colored edges, they are very posh and unique, you will be noticed by everyone if you please the right people and word spreads

good luck to you!
