wood baseboard around terrazzo
A very good customer recently installed 3/4" thick by 6" wide wood (maple) baseboard around the perimeter of a 2000 ft. terrazzo food service floor. Every floor care task, from mopping to burnishing to scrubbing to stripping, to resealing is now much more difficult--in that we have to avoid contact between the wood and rotating pads, stripper solvent, etc. Before I break our customer's heart and tell him that his beautiful maple base will have to be replaced, I thought I would check here. I've been in the business about 20 years but don't recall seeing wood base around a hard floor. Has anyone else? Any suggestions for dealing with wood baseboard (we tried blue painter's tape. Didn't work)? Thanks.
