I think the most important thing you should be careful about is the pressure. unnecessary high pressure can damage your car. it seems that pressure range below 100 bar works well

like others have said, the best power washers for cleaning a car should be pretty low PSI, around 1200-1700, as you're really only using it to blast away stubborn dirt, dust, or bird crap. The real polishing power will be from a cloth/ brush.

you can avoid scratches , it depends on how you clean your car , depends of the solution or spray do you use . I use to buy every car supplie i need from www.truckelectrics.com , not just the sprays . I remember the last time i bought a polish spray from here for my heavy vehicle.
