Post Air hose for soft washing???

Hi Iím new here my names Trey and I own NW Pressure LLC. Iím in happy valley Oregon. To the point

I landed my first roof soft washing job, bought a cheapo 3.8 gpm pump, figured I would use my supply hose to do the job,I have two 100 ft zero G soft 5/8 hoses. I tried to do the job and as soon as I got any elevation in my hose I lost pressure completely. I thought maybe the pump didnít have enough pressure and it froze up so I went and bought a fairly nice 4.5 gpm 60psi pump went and tried to do the job today and I could hit the lower level while on the ladder but as soon as I got on the roof I lost pressure. Wondering if itís my ďexpandableĒ more of a soft hose,is 5/8 too big for a 4.5 gpm pump?? Iím looking for a cheap hose option now to get the job done,I was thinking would maybe some 3/8 pvc air hose work? Just kinda lost here and want some more experienced soft washers input, anything you can give me is greatly appreciated!!
