Graffiti removal

Has anyone got contracts from cities for graffiti removal from private buildings ?

I heard that cities enforce graffiti removal on business owners, and if they don't remove it, the city contracts it out to a private company that has been awarded the contract. How do you go about getting in with the city?

You can try to contact the city's purchasing department and inquire about their procurement process. They may be able to give you information on how to become a vendor. Some cities have websites that you can enter all your information on and they will send out an email any time there is a new contract/solicitation available to bid on. Then you have to just wait for the one you want to come across...

Use non-toxic chemicals where possible and use the gentlest method of removal so that your surface is not damaged. Always read product labels and follow manufacturer's advice and recommendations.

World's Best Graffiti Removal works great and is supposedly eco-friendly, if you're looking for a chemical to use.

It is quite difficult to get into that. We've gotten a contract or two but competition there is rather cut-throat. I think they get many different offers most are very hard to compete with so we never went back to that scene.

Just wanted to share some interesting thoughts from a Sunshine Coast Pressure Cleaner.

Quote:
DIY Graffiti Removal?
Firstly, don’t waste hours on a DIY job that 90% of clients say they wish they hadn’t wasted their time trying to accomplish. Graffiti paint is most often permanent and designed not to be removed. This is also why removing the stubborn formula is so frustrating and requires the help of professionals at the Pressure Clean Experts.
Quote:
Professional graffiti removal uses specific topical products and the power of water-force and this “double action” cleaning method is extremely effective. Our chemicals loosen the pigment particles that make up the graffiti and the agitation water pressure blasts the offending material away.
They use some pretty good reasoning to describe why property owners should choose a professional pressure cleaning company, rather than doing it themselves. So if you are involved in graffiti cleaning maybe you can use this same sort of reasoning on your site.

I've never seen an RFQ for graffiti removal, so I would call the town office or city hall and ask directly

You would have an easier time getting businesses to hire you for graffiti removal vs. the city. Government organizations always have businesses bid for jobs so you will go up against a large number and have to drive down your price (and profits).

All of my graffiti jobs come from businesses, the government likes to hire female and minority owned businesses and I am neither of those :/
