Soft Washing is not only safer, it is much more effective at treating and killing off a range of micro-organisms. Once the micro-organisms have been treated and killed, low pressure water can be used to gently rinsed the solution and dead spores away.

The majority of professional pressure washers use a technique called “soft washing”. Typically less than 1000 PSI is used to clean a house. Very little pressure is used, with the surface being cleaned by the detergents applied, and then rinsed by the pressure washer. By using lower pressure, there is less chance of harm to the washer or the surface being cleaned.

Hi, as it was previously stated, bleach is the only proven method to kill mold and algae.

I have Powerwash machine which is a perfectly solution for soft wash process by low pressure chemical and bleach applicators for use when pressure washing is not feasible for softer surfaces.

Excellent approach.

Nice Ray,
We all clean different surfaces and yes soft wash is fantastic for a lot of your work. Over here we seem to concentrate on concrete and hard surfaces, Colorbond etc buildings. There is a good use for both types of cleaning, whatever gets the best result for our clients.
Whatever makes it easy.
BTW, just ordered another 10 gallons of EBC from Nick Hopkins, #softwashaustralia

Soft washing. Soft washing is a cleaning method using low pressure and specialized solutions (typically bleach, water, and sometimes a surfactant) to safely remove mildew, bacteria, algae and other organic stains from roofs and other building exteriors. It is so named to differentiate the method from power washing.

Well honestly it depends. Soft washing can clean just about anything, but there are times when a little bit of pressure can go a long way. Limestone bricks are a great example. Throw simple cherry and roof mix, let dwell 10 minutes and hit with about 500-1000psi. You could let it sit for a while and hope it gets it all off, but youre better off just doing a quick rinse to make sure. Plus when doing high ticket items like this you wanna make sure the owner sees the results.

Hey,
We use the best of both soft and pressure for building cleaning. Downstreaming ~2% at the handpiece (not through the hoses) and then just swap out the venturi to rinse at 1000 - 2000 psi with long range tips or 300 psi fan tip for windows. It works great as you have full control and any pressure needed to blow nest etc off. Hope that helps. Pete
