Advertising help

Once a year my town has a women's show, hundreds of local businesses set up a booth. I have decided to do it this year,(actually it's on Feb 2016.) I have reserved a 10◊10 both for my business and residential cleaning business. I plan to get magnets, pens, and gift certificates to put out on table, maybe some mints and germ x too. Also, printouts of what is cleaned for residential deep clean and basic cleans.

Can anyone give me some ideas on how to set my booth up so it is noticable? I'm sure I will end up getting a banner to put up high but I would like to do it as cheaply as possible. This booth was costly.

I want the booth to catch ones eye and be fun too. The booths are packed closely together and there are tons of people walking by looking at booths.

This will be my first time to do anything like this. Thank you for any advice or suggestions.

Do you know if it will be really light or will it be dark at all inside the building? Or is it outside? If it is outside, what time of day will it be held?

The reason I ask is because you need light. What I'm talking about is some form of crazy lights going on in your booth to get people to notice you. Maybe get a couple of led light bases and sit a bottle of window cleaner on one and a bottle of another cleaner on another.

Something dimly lit will not work.... it will need to be pretty dang bright.

I'm not endorsing the booth because most of the time they don't bring in much but hopefully you get lucky, I'm just throwing out ideas since you asked.

It will be inside a building for 9 to 5, really bright. Booths are packed tightly together. I have found that once people understand that I'm not a maid and see what all I clean, theyre amazed and want to pay for services. My concern is getting my business out there to more than friends, family and referrals.

What do you mean you're not a maid? What all do you clean?

Google+ is the best place to start on the internet. It is google's Facebook, and it alerts Google immediately that you exist.

Have some kind of a little game that causes movement - like a nerf basketball and a hoop. People are drawn to action and if you get a crowd watching something you will attract more. You can have some prizes for anyone who makes 8 out 10 or something. And it doesn't have to be a basketball just something that will take little skill, is fun and creates action.

Forget the giveaways they only get trashed or put in a drawer. Have a drawing for something a potential client might want - like 3 months free cleaning and they have to give you all their contact info and have a disclaimer on it that by giving you their info they are agreeing to opt in for an email list. Then set up a mailchimp account or something similar and start emailing cleaning tips twice a week. just quick two sentence tips. For every 10 to 15 tips you send email out a special promotion.

Trade shows are all about getting contact info and then having a strategic follow up.
