Another "I need to vent" topic
I recently got a new customer. She has been using a well known local cleaning company, but she wasn't pleased with their work. within 10 minutes of my first clean there, I knew she is right. It is obvious that they mopped the floors using a dirty old string mop. Her tile floors are a medium brown, but the dirt build up made it appear DARK brown. I used an ordinary sponge to test for this and yes, it WAS ancient dirt. While dusting various rooms, I found that that company had not bother to dust at ALL. There was about a half inch of dust on every surface. And this lady had been paying for SEVEN hours bi weekly! Why did that company do such shoddy work, and accepting payment for work not done?
I have to admit that this family is kind of messy, and has a lot of clutter, but that should not prevent someone from cleaning properly. I had to tell the owner what I found and how it will take a long time to remove all the dirt on her floors, much less get rid of all the dust. On occasion, my steam mop gets some of this stuff up, and I do plan to try it next time I am there. But it is also a time consuming job due to the need to change the pads so often.
Oh, and the master bathroom had obviously NOT been cleaned well in months. I wont describe this as its just too gross, but trust me when I tell you it was horrible.
So, fellow house cleaners, if you still use a dirty string mop, you will be causing someone else to deal with cleaning floors well in the future. And if you live in MY town it might be me whop has to clean up your messes.
