Nursing as a great profession when I lived up North. Once I moved to Florida, it all went downhill. Poor pay, no benefits and RN's were not treated well at all. I slowly realized that the GOOD RN's either quit or get fired. The BAD ones hang onto their jobs. They know how to play the political game. I didnt and did not want to!
So, after a major illness, I decided to do something else. I decided to clean houses and do cat sitting. And that is what I did! I love my work, but lately jobs have been scarce and harder to find. Dont know why.
Gayelynn, no one takes things as seriously as they should when they are young! Wisdom only comes with age. And we all have regrets and things we wished we had done. No one is exempt from this. The way I figure it, you just have to try to be as good a person as you can, do your work as well as you can, and try not to worry about tomorrow. And try not to fret about the past, because you sure cannot change it.
I enjoy my work and it helps keep me fit and active at age 68. (Never thought I would get this old, but here I am! Older bust wiser.) Most of my customers are younger than me. Some older but it doesnt make a bit of difference. What matters to me is trying to do a good job no matter WHAT the home's conditions are. Believe me, I have cleaned some homes that I still cannot understand how the people could live that way! I could tell you stories that would freak you out. I decided long ago to never make anyone feel bad if their home is grubby. Mine was, when I couldnt clean, recovering from major surgery. And I used to have FIVE cats! Holy cow, the cat fur was rolling around the whole house in balls, like tumbleweeds! LOL!
Maybe you should message me privately...? I would be happy to share my [ersonal email address with you. We ALL need friends in this business, people who know exactly what we face every day.
