How do you find your clients?

I know word of mouth is one of the best ways to go but where and how else do you find your clients? I found a website called thumbtack.com which has been ok but I want to spread my search...

Notes:
I am in Tampa, FL.

It is generally via internet marketing through websites with the word of mouth publicity that helps a lot in getting clients. You can hire agencies to get your site among the top listings of the services you provide. The digital media and newspapers should also be used for spreading the word of your specialties.

Anything that you an think of!!

If you are looking for residential clients, then there are a host of things.

Go buy plenty of biz cards, get a nice flier and or brochure and get them out there.

Go early in the morning and slip some of the fliers into a stack of newspapers.
Go to Walmart and put fliers on the car windows.
Lay cards everywhere.
Talk to people...give them a card when your done talking nonbusiness.

Just a couple ways.

Our website ranks well and we get 90% of our leads via google searches. We do postcard mailings when trying to target an area to add clients within a short drive of one another to lessen windshield time.

To find more client via internet.Do some SEO/SEM stuff. This way,you can get more clients. Also, doing social media is another way to gained more clients.Try also adding your business listing. You can add free listing in yahoo,google,bing,etc...There are lots of free business listings. This way,you might not need to do some calls. Also,we do telemarketing, which we hire a person from other country, and it can make it call over 200 calls/day..

You need consistency whether you use internet or printed media to promote your cleaning services. Also, ask your current clients to recommend you to their friends and colleagues. When people like what you offer, they would spread the word.

Three Things:
Work hard to get your website to where it needs to be.
Build a strong brand and stick to it.
And most importantly never give up!

We use a SEO company, who manages all of our marketing as well as social media, so they help a lot in that aspect. We generally get multiple leads a day through our website. We also recently ran a Living Social deal for 50% off cleaning and that got us huge exposure. Stressful and I probably won't run it again but our traffic shot through the roof and we signed an incredible amount of new clients.

Most of our customers find us on the internet like Google or Yelp, referral works for me too, I would say Google pay per click advertising is most effective, your will get phone calls right away, but that's expensive.

There are many ways of attracting new customers,
Do a good job and people will pass your info on to prospective clients,
Have a good marketing strategy, implementing internet, leaflets, events etc.
Ask for feedback & references so you can always improve & pass on good references to prospects.
