Yes, and most people end up on the last point.

Unless they call out for some professional to do the task.

You should keep your kitchen clean in order to avoid cockroaches in future. Use professional cleaning and janitor supplies for it. Also use efficient hygiene supplies and pesticides from a reputed catering equipment store like Akro to deal with such issues.

If sprays and traps can't get the problem under control then you may need professional help.

1. You need to eliminate all food for them and clean the area.
2. you need to find their entry point into the house. Look at holes in the sealant or caulk outside. Seal these up.

3. If the problem is severe, contact pest control. they can find the source and get rid of the cockroaches effectively.

Some good suggestions here. Most people find roaches disgusting. Here in Florida we have enormous roaches but we call them Palmetto bugs. I had NO ideas I had them until I adopted my cat Bear. He began killing them and I was both grateful AND horrified! They can fly too, which makes avoiding them difficult. My sister had one fly into her face and landed on her hair!

My least favorite insect is ants. ALL of them. I find them equally disgusting. In Florida we have many types of ants, including fire ants. My home remedies did not work at all, so I hired an exterminator. I interviewed 4 of them and hired the one man who does ALL the work himself. He only uses safe products. Inside my home he used Diatomaceous earth, a find powder. He put that stuff into electrical sockets, light fixtures, etc. Ants walk through it, and when the groom themselves (yes, ants groom themselves-) they die from the DE. My exterminator also used a bait and a spray outside. Within a week I had NO more ant problems. My apartment has always attracted ants. But they day I killed about 100 in my bathtub was IT for me.
