A la carte home cleaning????

I have free time on my cleaning schedule and was thinking about offering a la carte cleaning. Anyone else provide this or tried it before?

Was trying to come up with some sort of formula on pricing that's affordable and profitable.

Sample ideas:
(Any 3 rooms $$$)
($35 1st room $20 second $15 third+)

Ideas ~ Comments?:whistling2:

23 views and no one has an opinion? This is a question anyone can give an opinion on so.... I guess those that help will be the ones that get my help. If you don't care enough to give a little, I'll start sending pm's so people will either try to get this board going or struggle with your own problems. Come on... we can build this board up and make it better than anything out there.

Do you think manmaid has a good idea? Does his idea suck? Do you have any idea(s) that he might be able to use?

OR..... How about this:

To get people to try my cleaning service offer:

(Any One Room Cleaned for $25.00)
Most likely it will be grunt work like a kitchen or bathroom but it gives me a chance to show my skills!

Anyone?

And for those that are looking for answers and are new... manmaid and I have answers. We've been in business for many years and we both know hundreds of other cleaners. Back when I first started I wish someone would have offered some answers for me. It would have saved me atleast a million dollars and several thousands of hours of work.

^^I actually like the idea of doing kitchens and bathrooms only. Something to that affect. It's a "common" "uncommon" area some initial cleaning customers NEVER get to. Try offering pieces or portions of a package.

I know that in comercial clng a lot of co's do only restrooms so i guess you could do in houses to:unsure:

I like this idea and am waiting for an update on how it works out. I've been thinking about offering Kitchen and Bath deep cleaning.

Also wondering how you will market this service.

I wouldn't try it again. I one tried posting a special around Christmas time in my neighborhood, similar to what you describe, it was also when the economy here was very slow, and nothing! Those are the clients you probably don't want. I one time did "just the bathrooms and floors" for a client, and by the time I was done I felt like I did all the hard work, and got paid very little. I try to get the clients that are going to give me the most hours, and the highest hourly rate. I think anyone who is serious about a cleaning service will just hire you to clean their house. the only other thing I might do is tell people I am willing to cut some corners, or hours to fit their budget, if they seem like they will be a good, regular client.

I think I like that idea..but yes, have to agree, you may get really 'cheap' clients that are not really willing to pay for what you are worth..and are looking for a cheap ride. But, as you say...it gets you a foot in the door and you have an opportunity to show them what you have to offer which is sometimes all it takes to land a big one.

We sometimes run a 3 room special. I can't say as we do a lot of 3 room cleanings but it gets people to call. And once they call... its all up to you to land the bid and then the job after that. Although it's not the classic bait and switch... I kinda think of it as such. I bait them by advertising the 3 rooms for $xx. They call, I ask to go on a bid. While I'm there I give them a bid for the whole house and next thing ya know..... Jed's a millionaire.
