Mould around wooden window panes

I was just reading a threat on this site all about mould in the basements and the best way to get rid of it. It got me thinking about some of my clients who have issues with mould around their wooden window panes. The problem with trying to remove it is that you can sometimes damage the wood ... any tips on this please? is offline

The best tip anyone can give you is to leave it alone. Tell your customer to call a carpenter and they can remove the window sill and replace it. Always remember... you are a cleaner not a carpenter or a miracle worker. Don't put too much effort or thought in to it... the customer usually knows about these things and really doesn't care most of the time.

To remove mold from the wooden window first of all spread water over it, this will prevent mold from spreading over, prepare a detergent mixture and pour it on window panel, rub it with paper towel or any rug. When most of the mold gets clean, prepare a mixture of 1/4 to 1/2 cup bleach in a gallon of water, scrub the window casing using clean rug with mixture, let them set for 15 minutes, after that clean it with clean water and let the window dry.
