Thumbs up Water damage restoration

Water damage restoration is a very complex but important in any given situation in any property. It is also very essential that any contractor that handles the water damage is certified by IICRC and they have knowledge of what they are doing?

The goal of water damage should be to get there within the first 24-48 hours latest, to prevent secondary water damage, to prevent mold formation, and minimize the cost.
For any water damage restoration, there are important IICRC guidelines that need to be completed professionally as follows:

1. Extract all the water and clean up with the newest method of drying and powerful machines
2. Remove all necessary wet underpad and more
3. Apply Anti Microbial agent for preventing mold and mildew formation
4. Set up equipments as Air Movers and Dehumidifier for drying the area.
5. Daily moisture check with thermal hygrometer, to make sure all areas are fully dried.

A thermal hygrometer is used to monitor temperature and relative humidity. This allows the water damage, technician, to monitor the amount of moisture in the air and adjust drying equipment accordingly. This practice is called “Psychometry”.

Restoration & Repair after Drying

6. Install new underpad
7. Stretch the carpet
8. Fix baseboard, drywall and paint if needed
