What Time Of Year Is Best?

We mainly do residential cleaning and I was wondering what time of year is busiest for everyone else in a similar field. I have heard that holidays and spring is best...

We just started, but I had read spring and fall were the best times to ramp up business.

In my area, spring through summer is definitely the busiest. Spring cleaning is huge!

It's the opposite here in Mobile, Alabama. Are busiest times are in the Fall and Winter months. It's just too damn hot to do anything in the summer!

Our busiest times for residential cleaning are fall through spring. The end of summer is busy with move outs.

The best time is spring and summer. Holidays are horrible except for the week of xmas and the week of thanksgiving, otherwise phones are dead.

Thank you for your responses. I have noticed that January and February were really slow. I am getting busy again now that it is March. Although I just ran a group deal so my numbers are probably off.

I guess the rule of thumb when it comes to service companies is that when people want to be outside enjoying the weather they want us inside cleaning.

re:

Mostly house owner prefer to avail cleaning services after end of winter. But it is not applicable on commercial places. In cooperate offices they ask for routine cleaning time to time.

It is mostly at the time of change in season when the requirement of cleaning services increases tremendously. The change in season gives the feeling of making each item of the house fresh and clean so that further maintenance can be done accordingly. Other than that regular cleaning projects are frequent for some customers for the whole year.

I guess it depends on your family size and lifestyle / activities. We are pretty much on the go year round. We don't typically hire a maid just because we are busy, we'll hire a maid if we have a large gathering coming up and want everything in tip top shape, so that could be around Christmas, or spring for a graduation or summer or fall for a big party or extended family gathering.

I think the spring season is the best season of any kind of residential cleaning. Here, best tends to most busiest time and we can get maximum work in this period.

I am the most busy during Spring and Fall. Holiday cleans are always difficult to guage. Last year I had very few calls, and the year before I was busy. In the past, prior to the economy going bust I was crazy busy all year round. Now it seems to come and go in waves. Right now it's dead, people are focusing on what little vacation they can afford and school starting back up. Once I get over that hump, I will run an ad again.
