charge schools same or different price during summer vacation?

Hi Folks ,

I am doing an estimate for a school and I am wondering if I should charge a different price during the summer vacation seeing that school will be closed then. I have never bid on a school before so I have no idea what the norms are.
If yes, what would be a good percentage of the original price, 50%, more or less?

School Cleaning Bid

I clean several schools now and have cleaned a number of schools in the past. During vacations, I generally charge only fot the days I am required to clean. For instance, if I usually clean five days per week during the school year but only clean two weeks during Christmas break, I only charge for the two weeks I cleaned. I have discovered that most schools operate just about year round with summer school classes, teacher conferences and teacher preperations during student breaks. The lost revenue at any given time is not that large as the vacation periods are not that long.

Well there are two different sides to these. I would charge less for summer because the kids will not be in school, and the place is not being used much. Things go untouched besides a few teachers here and there because a bunch of kids aren't running around. Things will be easier I think.

Obviously we don’t need more cleaning in summer vacation because children don't come school in the summer holidays. We did clean school once in 7 days and charge less than other working days. Our client is also happy with our company strategy.

The commercial cleaning company charge equally weather it is summer or winter. In summers the children do not come to schools so it is easy for cleaning company professionals to do their job without any interruption and definitely they can produce better quality work but the cleaning companies in London provide cleaning services 24X7, means they provide services with the same price quote in winters also when children are there in school but the difference is that they provide service after or before schools hours for their convenience.

My best buddy cleans a school and he makes much more in the summer than the rest of the year. Floors stripped and waxed and all the deep cleaning keeps him much more busier in the summer than the normal hours when school is in session.
