Newbie!! Commercial Cleaning Bid!

Hi everyone!
I am new to this site and new to commercial cleaning. I have done my HW though. however, I am really stuck. We have an opportunity to BID on a 38000 sq ft building. We will go see it tomorrow. 23000st ft is tile! I ready dont even know how much to charge! I have researched for my area Souther CA and the going rate is about 16 cents a sq ft. The want the basic cleaning 3x a week. Nothing extra except empty refridge 1x a month.
We came to a figure of about $7500/month since we have to provide paper products, soap and deoderizer. We also will have to commute a distance. Can we charge mileage in the bid?

Also, we are a 4 man crew. My husband, the owner, has over 10 yrs experience cleaning but not his own business.
What are some must have tools for this job? Especially to clean that 23000 sq ft in tile?!! And how long a night would it take? I guessed 12 man hours so maybe 3 hours with our team??

Any guidance or help is appreciated!

Bidding Help

You are way too high in price for 3 x per week of cleaning. If you wanted to be around 0.16 per sq.ft. then you would be at $6,080.00 per month for 5 x per week cleaning, not 3 x per week. You can charge for travel costs but the 5 other quotes that are submitted won't! You will probably have to get your total cleaning hours per night down from 12 - 10 hours to be competitive. I wouldn't be at all surprised if other quotes are under $3,000.00 per month plus the cost of supplies.

I agree, your price is way too high. It should be closer to $2,500. Forget about adding the travel costs as no one else will do it. As for the consumables (TP, soap etc.) how are your going to charge for them? Flat fee per month? Cost plus? Add the invoice for the supplies to your bill? This is an item you need to discuss with the customer so you don't lose any money.
