Pricing

Everyone's favority topic! ;-)

8500 sq ft building, 2 main bathrooms, 12 offices, hallways, meeting room

Bidding on cleaning every night and twice per week.

I've lost the last two bids I've submitted due to pricing. I have been agressive and still lost.

Anyone open to discussing how they would handle pricing this type of opportunity?

Commercial cleaning jobs are almost always price driven unless you have a relationship built. I would do two things: First, I would determine what your drop dead price point is. In other words if the price goes lower then you don't want the business. That should be your bid. You can do some small price hikes on contract renewals. Try to put a renegotiation clause in the contract. Second thing is you need to create a presence with prospects before you get to the bid process. If you do that you will have people that a)want to do business with you and b)will help you shape your bid so that you can price where you want and still get the business. This is an old trick among purchasing agents. They will write the bid so only you can meet the requirements. So, you will win hands down.
