Question for 2014
I am interviewing candidates for several positions cleaning bars/restaurants and one of my candidates mentioned they have been "sober" for 21 years...
In my mind I was like "okayyyyy". This person has cleaning experience and at one point had a contractor's license.
I like to give everyone a fair shot but my business partner does not like the idea of putting a recovering/recovered alcoholic in a bar where he/she will be around alcohol and in an unsupervised role.
What are you all thoughts on this?
Is this a high risk proposition? I still have to do a background check on this individual and would hate to prejudge or devalue the experience they could bring to the job.
