Size of Crew Needed?

Hello,

I have one question. If you had a commercial office building that is split into two 8 or 9 story towers and the entire cleanable sqaure feet is about 589,000. What size of cleaning crew would be required?

5? 10? 20? 30? 40? etc?????

I don't have such an account, but am strickly curious.

Thank you for your answers in advance.

You would need to be more specific about what the customer would want done. Also the frequency of cleaning, density of the building and so on.

Hello,
Thank you for your response....

Assume all the standard commercial janitorial functions are required.
Vacuum, trash, mopping, cleaning restrooms, interior glass doors spot washed, elevators vacuumed, stair ways checked occasionally, ash trays emptied, no window cleaning that would require getting of the ground. Also cleaning any break areas, table tops, appliance tops, etc... Just the typical stuff a commercial office would "usually" want/need done.

I think if you team cleaned such a building you could expect around 5,000 sq feet per hour of production, give or take.
So you would be looking at about 117 hours of cleaning per night. Or around 14 full time cleaners.
Of course this can all change depending on many factors but that is a rough ball park for you.

Thank you for the reply.. That is very interesting.

Your first post also gave me a part B question. I'm also curious about how many vacuum cleaners you'd need. I'd suspect at least 6?

30,000 sq.ft. building

We get about 6,000 sq.ft. per hour out of our people, so figure about 5 man-hours per night. Of course there will probably be extras such as floor maintenance, so add that onto your bid.
