What is a mulching mower? Can a mulching mower mow over anything but grass?

If you want a lush and healthy lawn without using a rake or blower, then try mulch mowing. It's a great way to revert some nutrients to the mother soil. It's where a mulching mower comes handy. Such a mower uses the blade suction to cut the grass clippings several times to turn them into tiny pieces and then leaves them back to the grass bed. As grass clipping contains up to 90 percent water, they dry quickly, mix back into the soil, increasing its nutrient level as well as moisture.

Using a mulching mower is very beneficial for your lawn. According to Kansas State University, 25 percent of the nutrients from grass clippings come back to the soil, and that reflects in a nourished garden. Mulching the grasses also saves your time and energy because you don't have to dispose of them in a separate bin.

Answering your second question: yes, a mulching mower can also mow over autumn leaves. You simply have to use the maximum cutting height and use the mower as usual. It will mulch all the fallen leaves from your lawn. But yes, you can mulch the unwanted leaves only If they are scattered. If there is a thick layer, then it will be a problem for the mower to mulch all the leaves. In such a situation, use mulch and store feature of the mower.
