UPDATE: Looking back on my first posts, I am both shocked and amazed I've lasted this long. HA! That "great" website was torn down and rebuilt. The new one can be found on the link in my signature. Still though, she did it for free. Can't beat that price! Since those days, she has gone her way, and I went mine. I really do respect her (my ex partner), but she had different business values than I do. I fully intend to dominate. She only wanted to get by. At any rate..... my oh my how times have changed. haha ![]() |

There we go, got the signature. I talked to my business partner. She is working on the banner as we speak. We checked out that site you provided PressurePros. She knows how to do that as well. Good suggestion. I showed her your comment, and she looked at me and said: I can handle constructive criticism. ![]() |

PressurePros | Ultra (fill in your signature so I don't have to keep calling you ultra). The site is great. The one thing that will take it over the top is a banner designed by a graphic artist. You can get one relatively cheaply at www.kbkgraphics.com and it will add a flare of professionalism that you fall a little short of in the current design. |

UltraBrite | Thanx Suzikg, she certainly is a keeper. Tough to find someone in business who you can really trust, AND who has an assortment of helpful skills. My main helpful skill in the business partnership, is that I'm good at waking up and making us coffee. kidding...I have my skills. haha |

Wish I had known about you and Ken when I lived in Montgomery...I'd have let your businesses go "south" ![]() ![]() ![]() The house was only 3 years old when we bought it and the deck was toast from the day we moved in, as was the vertical cedar siding. Pulling away from the house, warped not correctly blocked, visible spaces between the planks...sheeze...you could see the shiny insulation between the boards...installed wet or green maybe? We had several companies come in to try to remedy the situation over the years. My ex was a penny pincher and refused to pay to have it all redone properly. sigh. Super shoddy construction and the jerk that we bought the house from was a builder! He'd throw a house up, live in it for a year & sell it. We didn't know that until after the fact. Y'all have your work cut out for you dealing with wood, the weather element factor and builder-related issues ![]() suzi |

Well, it was one of 3 jobs she had..I have a real worker here. haha. Yeah, I'm over here in the Essex/Middle River area of Baltimore. From what I've seen, we have pretty much no competition in our area as far as janitorial/pressure washing goes. Course, I probably just jinxed myself and now they will be pouring in like roaches. Kidding. lol |

Deck Cleaning Staining Nightmares Suzi, did you ring? ![]() Ultra, welcome, bro. Yes, wood is a completely different beast. What you practiced on the deck is more affectionately known as vandalism. |

Welcome and I agree with the decks being a different animal to deal with. I lived in a home back in Montgomery, AL that had deck issues from h*ll. Never did find anything to help it out as it was constructed improperly. Boards spaced too close to each other to allow water to drain and no flashing or space at the thresholds that allowed water to drain. Every time it rained, the water came into the house and caused major mildew problems on the carpets. Never sealed properly...warped and splintered wood after a few years. Just a total nightmare from the beginning. I commend anyone who can address "bad" deck issues. suzi |

UltraBrite | Thanx for the welcome. Man, this website is packed with great info. I started a few months ago, way before we officially began the business plan, reading and trying to get educated on pressure. Prior to buying books, DVD's on the subject, and checking out this site, all I knew about PW's was what I knew from pest control and removing bird droppings from walls....no chems or anything, just PSI. Its pretty incredible how much there is to learn about this trade. And I DONT even wanna get on the subject of wood/decks. I shudder to think that about a year ago, me and a buddy did a deck for some guy where we painted the walls, washed the deck (just hosed it down) and stained it. Went to home depot and got some kinda stain. It was pretty much a cluster *F*, but we pulled it off. Man, if I knew then what I know now... *shudder*. lol |
