|=JT=||So how many people are you going to be having on the job with you? I did notice that you said its a nightly job. It will take about 5 hours a night?|

|=JT=||I dont have any experience with large places and never have bid on a price per square foot before, but when you say .095 per sqft. you mean x20,554 sqft for the month? So your monthly bill is going to be about $1952. ?|

|wubb2005||May I ask how many hours a month you have in this job?|

.095... selling point was that he needed better service, which comes with a higher cost. He understood and was willing... SO far we have exceeded their expectations and they are extremely happy.

|=JT=||So what was the final price on your bid?|

Just to follow-up... I got the contract. I ended up being a little higher, but after he checked my references, he was willing to pay a little more for better service and results.
This will lead to more opportunities as they own/manage over 300,000 ft of space in my area and continually build more as they win proposals.
Pay scale was in line with when I was thinking. The previous provider was being paid around .08 a sq. ft... national chain.
Thanks to all that replied!

I am assuming approx. 5 hours per night of cleaning with labor costs about $13.00 per hour or around $1,300.00 per month. The amount left after expenses would be owners salary.

If it leads to more work, take it. That is a good opportunity to grow.

Total labor costs should be about $1,300.00 per month. That leaves about $500.00 per month profit. I'll take it.

|wubb2005||I looked back at what I think is your original post on this. Is this for daily cleaning? How many days a week is it?|

Commercial Building bid
hello all... I posted a couple months ago about an opportunity to clean a commercial building. I lost the bid, but they have called me back. I originally bid at .16 cents a sqare foot (20,554sq ft), but found that they were paying, and still are, .09 cents a sq ft.
Anyone been in this situation before? This is a competive bid... I expect they would be willing to pay a little more for better service, but it would be in the .10-.105 range.
With paying expenses, OH and labor, I'm left with a few hundred dollars per month. Is this typical for the commercial building arena?
The upside is they are a general contractor as well which would lead to opportunities for construction clean up and susequently more buildings.
