profcleaning Wear gloves. Actually, wear a full coverage body suit. Cleaning doctors offices is as much crime scene cleanup as I'd ever want!!

missannienow How do you find this sort of cleaning job????
07-01-2018 10:08 PM
Cleanexp Most states do not require a certification/ license, however I believe the state of California and Florida do. Even if your state does not require a professional license you do need a license to transport bio hazard materials that are collected from the scene ... to an accredited facility for disposal.... you'll have a bit of research to do here to line your ducks up. You can attempt to get on the vendor list of insurance companies that may provide some coverage thru home owners policy (many policies do not cover) be prepared to fill out a detailed application and possibly even a visit to your facility if your application is in the approval process. You can also network with the appropriate municipality offices-officials.Most likely they will also have a vendor process system. They are going to be the ones putting out the calls/ references for these kind of clean ups. Not an impossible start up but you need to do your research throughly.... you most likely will be competing against a few well established companies that perform these services.

missannienow How do you find jobs like this???? Please tell me. It interests me. I am a nurse and am used to blood and guts and other gross things. Being a house cleaner is pretty much like being a nurse, except the "patient" isnt human, it is where the human being lives.

Please share your ideas on how to find crime scene clean up jobs. Thanks!!!

profcleaning Good info, but you should purchase completely separate equipment that you use solely for this purpose.I wouldn't want someone cleaning crime scenes and then coming into my house to do a weekly service.YUK!

I don't even supply mops to houses that have pets it's not fair to the other clients.

Pet houses need to supply their own mops and I have separate vacuums for pet homes.

If you want to get paid well then you have to think about each customer's needs.

Titan911 If any of the trauma scenes created such as sudden, accidental, crime death:
1. First of all you can do is calling any local emergency services of city.
2. Second thing if local emergency services of the city are not much helpful or unavailable; you can also obtain for some trauma cleaning reputed companies of the city and ask for help.
Hope this information helps.

sprintcar93 Not too many years ago I started to add this on to my business. At that time all you needed was some water and a rag and if you could get the job.... go for it. I didn't add it on because I couldn't find anyone to do the job and I sure wasn't going to do it. And now times have changed and you have to be certified blah blah blah. There is great money in it if you care to get what it takes to do it. People are dying and shot and everything else every minute of every day.....

PD_Lape But still that's a whole new kind of messy. I think there is only a few people that actually do crime scene cleanup so they make the pay enticing. I can't get myself into doing it though and I don't think any of my employees would dare to.

Carpet Tile Cleaner
Crime Scene Clean Up is Tough

I would hate to clean up crime scene blood out of a carpet or rug. Probably just replace it. Maybe if you had carpet tiles you could just replace a few of them. Maybe the best solution since installing carpet squares is easy.
