To remove tomato sauce stains Reply to Thread
As soon as you discover the tomato sauce stain, act quickly before the stain can settle into the carpet.

Step 1: Scrape off any excess tomato or tomato juice, paste or soup from the carpet.
Step 2: Mix a solution of two cups cool water and one tablespoon dish washing liquid.
Step 3: Using this solution, sponge the stain caused by the tomatoes with a clean white cloth.
Step 4: Next, blot at the stain until the liquid is absorbed.
Step 5: Repeat steps 3-4 until the tomato stains are removed from the carpet.
Step 6: Now that the stain is removed you should get plain cold water and a new white cloth and sponge the area to remove the cleaning solution, and then blot dry
However, if you don't have luck with this stain removal method above you can also do something additional with the carpet stain, which is to mix a solution of one tablespoon of ammonia with two cups warm water.

Vinegar and baking soda only work if the stain is fresh new. For old stains use s mixture of 1 Tbsp. of hydrogen peroxide and 3 Tbsp. of cold water to remove the stain. When using this mixture, apply to the stain and let sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with water and blot dry.

Rinse the stained area with cold water.
Pour or spray white vinegar onto the stain.
Try club soda to remove the stain as well. Club soda is carbonated water and leaves no residue so it is perfect for cleaning stains off carpet.

|JoanLee||I think that for tomato stains it is important to react really fast cause cause if they stay longer it is really hard to remove them after that. :( It never happened to me.|
