|highsteam||The best would be first to extract the most urine possible. a little flood with an enzyme, let it sit and use a shop vac to remove as much as product/urine as possible. And then spray the bacteria digester and let it dry.|

When dealing with pet odors and stains you need a product that kills the bacteria. If you dont do that the odor and or stain will come back. Here is a product that I use and sell to remove pet stains and odors, it's called Super Fresh and is Certified Green so there is nothing harmful in it at all. http://www.cleanandgreensolutions.com/our-products/

Avoid using ammonia based products to clean dog urine. One of the ingredients of dog urine is ammonia and he may well be encouraged to re-offend in the same area. Remember, your dog's sense of smell is a hundred times better than yours.

Once urine soaks down into the carpet pad, it is very hard to get rid of the stench that the urine creates. We have been able to get the smell and stain out of the carpet but have a very hard time getting it out of the pad especially if the puppy goes in the same place more than one time.|

This is really painful. I am suggesting a workout which may be helpful:
a. Place a towel at the area where dog has urinated
b. Pour 3% strength hydrogen peroxide on the urinated area
c. Take a plastic cover and cover up the areas where you have poured this chemical.
d. Place another towel over the plastic cover so that area remains dark.
Check the progress after aroun 30 mins. Repeat if required.
I am a Rug Cleaners NY and have used this several times.

|abbs||To be honest, I wouldn't tinker with the carpet myself. I was in a similar situation with one of my carpets, only it was soaked in cat urine. Disgusting, I know, but I tried a lot of suggestions people gave to me but the carpet eventually gave way to the chemicals present in the urine. I came across a cleaner Carpet Cleaners New York who takes care of it pretty efficiently. I don't know whether you are willing to spend money on the carpet, but if you are, contact them if you're in NY or hit me up. I know some fantastic cleaners in other states too.|

Buy a product that is specifically aimed at cleaning up a dog or a cat's waste. Read the label to make sure that it is safe to use around your pet.

|connorpetro||The advantages of this method is the shortage of dirt attracting residues, the carpet stays cleaner longer. No rinsing is necessary. Huge areas can be serviced quickly and is cost effective. When choosing a deep cleaning method for your carpets, always check the recommendations of the carpet manufacturer, the equipment manufacturer, and your carpet cleaning professional.Mostly people select their method of carpet cleaning based on the type of carpet they have as its essential to think about various factors like its strength, its issues etc.|

Dealing with cat urine
The cat urine is far worse then the dog urine because of the ammonia in the urine. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs. Both have had messes, but the cats are far worse when it happens. The only thing I have found that works is the Genesis 950. I used to buy the cleaners at the pet store and they have tons. I would try one and think the stain was gone, but then the smell would appear. So I tried another product and another. I have bottles for hardwood, bottles for carpet. That's how hard it is to get rid of the cat stains and smells. So I went on the mission which led me to the 950. It works to lift the stain and pull it from the carpet. I swear by it. It is the only thing I have ever used that made me feel like I was getting rid of the smell. Not only does it lift the stain but it deodorizes too. It is awesome! And it's non-toxic - can't go wrong with that.
