windclonsvto What is Google Analytics? It's a stats program that tracks your website traffic. It can give you detailed information on how many pageviews you get, how many unique visitors you have, what key words people are typing into search engines to find your site, what part of the country visitors are from and so much more. You can even refine searches to show one day or go back however far you want.
The interface takes a little getting used to but once you do it's powerful and the graphical layout makes things easy to understand.

There are even more reasons why you should be using this program though...
  • If you use Google Adwords to get leads for your business you can track the performance of your campaign with this program. You can even go as far as to track how many CPC leads request an estimate on your site and even what specific key word are leading to those requests.
  • The stats data is hosted by Google so if you ever move servers or hosts you don't loose all your previous data which has happened to me twice.
  • You can track up to 10 websites from a single account so you don't have to log into a bunch of different systems.
  • IT'S FREE!
The only downside I can think of is that in order for the system to work you need to add a small bit of code to the pages of your website. This isn't a problem for me and only took about 5 minutes but for some people this may be a technical challenge.

As of August 15th registration is now open to anyone who wants to join.
There are two ways to sign up. Either log into your Google Adwords account and click on "Analytics" or you can just go to the following link: [COLOR=#22229c][/URL]

Good Luck! [/QUOTE]

This is kind of an old post but you should always be using some kind of analytics. And GA is one of the best and it's free. A bit of a learning curve but once you get it down you get invaluable insights into your traffic

f&s If you use wordpress, use Google Analytic in site, saves you time and gives you what you need.

carpetcleaner44 Another useful feature of Google Analytics is to see where your search traffic is coming from. For instance your might be targeting "house cleaning texas" but Analytics might show you have a lot of traffic coming from "pet stain cleaning Texas". If this is this case then you can optimise your site to get even more traffic for this niche.

maryancell001 Google analytic is the most important tool for any webmaster or SEO as they can check the regular activity and user flow on their website, we can check from where we are getting the visits through which device or browser to through which keywords. In short we can check all the user behaviours by this tool.

WebMaster Tools shows you how your site is doing. Analytics show you how certain words do across the world, Country, State, or even cities.

tobycrabtree If you use AdWords, then link your account with GA and look under the [Advertising] reports in GA.

You should also check the paid traffic under [Traffic Sources] > [Search] > [Paid].

Additionally, if you use other forms of advertising, I would recommend you to tag your links and check the [Campaigns] reports that are under [Traffic Sources].

casefunding I think that by using Google Analytics we can collect the information about total traffic towards our website.A seo expert always use this to get better results.
