I was lucky enough to spent a fair amount of time in your area, Redwood City to be exact.
Guardian Supply, Lew Harper, very nice man. Sold to Hillyard several years back.
Ray Burnfield used to manage the facility, he is now selling carpet cleaning equipment and supplies I believe.
I knew quite a few people there, really nice area, if I could afford it, I'd like to live there.
You have a really nice web site, I want to spend more time looking it over, very nice, I like it!

This is the first forum I've been do since I made the decision to make a decision to possibly re-enter the industry, I'm not the same person as any other Mr. Clean's out there.
King of Prussia - I've been there! Worked with a gentle in Horsham, Hap Galer, had a company named Galer-Hults I believe.
Back to Mr. Clean - he was at an ISSA show I attended a few years back - "got the picture to prove it"
Such a good industry!
And so many changes, a lot of consolidations it seems. When I left, AmSan was growing really quick, as was Hillyard and Waxie out west.
May I ask if most of you buy your products from a distributor (if so, one of the national brands or a local "mom & pop"?), from a wholesale club, retail store or ???

Distribution of janitorial supplies was my career for a quarter of a century.
It is a good industry, sanitary maintenance or whatever the term is today.
I've been out of the industry for two and a half years, considering a re-entry.
One of my favorite positions was and always has been customer service, everyone seemed to help each other, it's good. People could and did trust one another. It was more than business, yet, business was business.
I used to negotiate deviated costing on supplies, that was fun and the reporting complex. Say you are big enough to warranty a deviated cost - a cost lower than normal, the dealer has to first buy it at the higher price. Then, at month end, reconcile all your purchases, consolidate the information, send it to the vendor and then wait 30-45 days for the credit to come back.
I'm getting off track -
I hope i can bring something to the forum from whatever my perspective is.
