Yes, in fact when we are roof cleaning Tampa homes and buildings we always use a squirt of 409 on the skylight and wipe them clean.
Usually I send him up to clean them when I knock on the homeowners door before I present them the new clean roof. When they see my guy cleaning the skylight it makes it easier for them to write a check. A lot of the times they will throw a tip in at that time for going the extra mile.
We usually get around 100 in tips over the week...
I know that cleaning skylights is extra work but generally this will be included in normal roof cleaning mean you should not ask for extra charge for cleaning of skylights. According to me your client will be happy if you done their work without any cost for their extra work.
Cleaning skylight depends on what type of skylight do you have eg. glass, polycarbonate, insulated, tube lights. Cleaning it on the outside will be difficult if you don't have the proper tools because you need to climb up to the roof and safety precaution is need. Skydome Skylight can be clean from the inside with soap and water and with non-abraisive products to avoid damaging the skylight.
