yes I have. we set it up for branding. that is we were looking to get name recognition so that when someone did a google search later they would recognize our name and increase our click volume. we were not planning on getting a direct return on clicks to the web site. However, after about 6 months we started seeing a good return on investment directly from the ads. we are now increasing our ad spend on Facebook.

No one had

I did it myself for 6 months. Very poor quality customers. 1000 enquires per day 90% from weirdos wasting my time.

I got bad reviews because i responded slow. I got bad reviews because i was too expensive. I got bad reviews because i did not responded at all. I gave up.

Then i was contacted by this crazy dude with hundreds of campaigns. He offered me 2 months of free ads and free management just to sign me up. I said why not? Big mistake. Same bloody story. Nothing has changed. Window cleaning for 3 bed house - 75 euro. I offer you 9 euro. No way. I offer you 9.75 euro. 3000 enquires later and 1-2 jobs, i gave up. You need to stay in the front of the computer 24/7/ Forget about doing any work.

The work is there big time if you are willing to do it for nothing. Works great for brands & Eco products. Many people have serious cash with Favebook ads but not for services

Well, maybe optimised better could do a bit better but the type of customer spending time on social media, is not the type you want for your business.

Few of my competition are doing facebook ads. They are very busy. But it low quality work and complaining customers.

I just think there are better ways of getting work

I've done a bit of research on paid advertising and I'm not sure FB is best for cleaning type services unless you have a promotion/offer that really stands out. You are trying to grab people's attention from their newsfeed scrolling when they may have no interest in your service. If you were trying to sell some sort of unique product that no one knew about, maybe getting exposure via FB ads would help. For something like cleaning, you want to put yourself in front of people who need cleaning. So, paid ads on Google (or other search engines) or working on search engine optimization may give better results so that you show up for people searching for exactly what you are offering.

Agreed 100%.

You may find that Google Ads are more expensive compared to Facebook Ads, but that is simply because of search intent.

When someone searches for a "cleaning service + location" in Google, that person is ready to buy and if the right website comes up, being a local service with a BIG contact number on the front page, then that person is pretty much a done deal once they've called you.

However, with Facebook Ads, as John mentioned, there's no intent, and targeting is completely different, so yes, you're trying to put your ads in front of people who could be potentially interested in your services, but it's definitely not the same as Google Ads. This also explains the reason why Facebook is cheaper compared to Google, and thus attracting more advertisers.....Arguably, it's easier to use as well.

Hey! For me, I guess creating an apt content can help you get the job done right. I won a bakery store and couple of people gave positive reviews about the store which helped me get some more customers. I also share posters in related Facebook groups. Sometimes I get responses and sometimes I don't. I think it's the matter of luck and how well you create the content.

We've used FB ads with some success. The nice thing is that you can really target the audience you want since they have so much information about age groups, where they live, and their interest. I think it's one of the "bang for you buck" ways to get your ads in front of people that may be interested. Plus it's pretty easy to track the success of your effort if you do go with a paid ad campaign.
