My name is ken with K and C power Washing In conway, Arkansas. This is my second year in the bussiness, and i'm trying to get my pricing on staing and weather proofing decks and privicy fences. If i could get some pricing ideals from fellow washers. Do we charge by sq ft? Do we charge by size of job? Do we charge by liner ft? And do we charge for power washing and treating seperate? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Ken Patrom

There are so many factors to take into consideration when doing wood care and restoration! It's virtually impossible to just throw numbers out for pricing on that type of work. Wood type, previous finish, no finish, type of stain to put on, size of job, location (over water, landscaping, elevated) are all factors to consider.

Where are you located?

Conway, Arkansas I have tried to contact other weather prtoofing companies in my area but they don't want to tell me what the market is.I did a couple last year(decks and fences) and i was charging by liner foot on fences and sq ft on decks. Most of mine are in yards not near water. I'm trying to fine that fine line on what to charge per sq ft and liner ft. Any help with this greatly apprecciated. Feel free to call me if that would be better for you at 501-328-3988
Thanks for your help.

Like Celeste said it's kinda hard to give a price on restoring wood with many factors that come into play.

It has a lot to do with the kind of stain/price of the stain you are paying etc.How much labor you have or expenses on chems, gas etc.

I like to charge seperate for cleaning less for new wood and price according for stripping or large jobs.Oh and large jobs are not always cheaper cause more wood = more work.Sqft for decks, Lft for handrail. Now for fences i calculate my sqft price to a Lft price for 6'5" and 8'5" tall W/top cap on fences are more$$.

You are welcome to call me also if you need some ideas.I've been cleaning and staining wood for the last 10 years here in Houston...713-203-1648

Ken, I'll give you a call sometime but you should also take Shane up on his offer. His company and our company do things pretty differently - not that either is right, wrong or better - it would be good to get views from both sides and then do what works for you :)
