Just thought I would share some of the Free Methods I have used to list my Business.

Superpages.com has a basic listing that is free.

Google Local is another free way to get listed.

Yahoo Local also.

Contracors.com has a free feature and also has free leads.

My Favorite features of the Contractors.com and Superpages.com listings are the ability for consumers to rate you. After I complete a job I ask for consumers email so that I can send them a link to the Rate and Review pages. The more reviews and good ratings can help others choose us as a contractor. It's FREE. Also, I noticed that the reviews have put me higher on the listings.

I am also listed free on several Pressure washing related websites in thier "Contractors Directory"
I've noticed that if I google "Pressure Washing Lexington KY" My Name is listed several times on the first page because I am listed in so many places.

Just thought I'd share those No cost ways to get Your Name out.

Anybody else have any Ideas?

Well, as you have right now I think having your contact info in your signature on these forums is good as well. No only can people contact you but having your website address in there creates a backlink to your site which will help you get indexed in the seach engines... so that leads to more free leads.

Web bulletin boards are great too. Flyers in local stores. We even hand out flyers at Wally World. Home Depot has a business card file so other contractors can find subs great for Post Constr. Clean-up.

Thank you for that. Some of these bulletin boards are a little queer on listing your site in your signature. I appreciate the opportunity.

Not a problem - Craigslist started here in San Francisco. Recently it has branched out to the whole world.

Until it really catches on in your area and everybody uses it you can catch some sweet jobs on it. Unfortunately in our area now there are sooooooooooo many who advertise there for cleaning and other service industrys that your ad's get lost in the mix now. Enjoy it while you can.

I guess it works, but I can't stand how craiglist is set up. Youd think that with a site that large they cold get some programmers in there and advance it past basic html stages.

No way to organize the search results or anything either. Plus every guy with a paintbrush advertises in there also. I imagine you get a lot of people looking for a cheap job
