I have a bid in for a large school job. I was talking to the on site company manager today and was told I may not get the gig as his company told him "They" (meaning the crew) is contracted to clean the windows. He told me he has been working as their manager for 8 years and never had to clean the windows and this is the first he is hearing from upper management that his crew must now do the glass. But now he is upset because they crew is wasting a ton of man hours using rags and Windex. My question is, that I read in one of the larger industry mags that most large cleaning companies do not clean windows because of insurance. Also that some of them think they are covered for windows, clean them, have an issue and only then, do they find out they are not covered for touching the glass. Not sure if it was a cost issue, or liability issue that I was reading about. But from what I read most sub-ed it out. Do most larger companies insurance cover them for window cleaning?
