The New Roof Cleaning Pump Of Choice
http://news.thomasnet.com/fullstory/464091/3286

This is the new Delevan 7800 pump, 5.3 GPM open flow and 100 PSI capable.
Viton valves, Santopene Diapraghms, and poly body ensure great chemical resistance.

It is even better then the 5800 series Delevan pumps we have been suggesting.

Why ?

Because it has 40 more PSI then the 5800.

Performance like this was unheard of in a 12 volt pump years ago, when we started.

This will be a great roof cleaning and chemical spraying pump.
I predict it will become the inexpensive pump of choice for roof cleaning.

It also has 1/2 AND 5/8 Hose Barb factory options.

Hats off to you Delevan for listening to our needs.

One might notice that this pump will prime up to 14 feet!

What does this mean ?

It means that this pump can be used with an Apple Vari Flow system!

Below is the link to the thread telling you how to build this system
http://forums.thegrimescene.com/showthread.php?t=8532

BTW, TWO of these pumps can be combined in tandem.

This means the outputs of the two Delevan 7800's are simply combined into a TEE having equal lengths.

This yields a pump system capable of 10.6 GPM, at 100 PSI!

How do we arrive at 10.6 GPM at 100 PSI ?

Simple, each pump has 5.3 GPM and 100 psi.

So, two pumps in parallel double the flow, and pressure remains the same.

Enjoy!

Chris

Great stuff, Chris... thanks!
Anytime Ken!
God, remember us on the old Delco board back in the old days ?
We would have killed to get a pump like this.

On TGS, DOC pointed out that the 7800 pump is now called the 5800 ?
So, there is some confusion.
The specs on the 5800 say it is "only" 60 psi, instead of 100 PSI.

I haven't time at this moment to check it out, but even the 5800 would be a giant step up IMHO from a Shurflo.

Iam Looking Foward To Getting Mine In And Hooked Up This Winter
Now Russ, it ain't like your dual shurflo system is exactly a slouch ?
Washaway from TGS got him the new Delevan, and he says it is kickin his shurflo's behind too.

He only has 3/8 hose, at the moment.
He does plan on getting the large hose, and "unleashing" his Delevan.

Like most of us, he simply used what he had on hand.

oh dont get me wrong chris ,i love my set up the way it is and it kicks butt but you know the old saying that "bigger is better" ,well i cant wait to find out !!!!!
Yes, in THIS case, bigger is better.
The more flow your system can put out, the weaker mixture you can use, saving you money and time, and protecting the integrity of your customers roof.

It is a misconception that chemical roof cleaning w/o using presssure will not harm a roof.
That is wrong!

I have seen first hand the aftermath of the "Chlorine Cowboys".

Strong Chlorine solutions can certainly harm a roof, and we have seen pre mature granule loss caused by overly strong chemical solutions.

That said, a pair of the Delavan Pumps could be an awesome roof cleaning system!

Two will give you 10.6 GPM at 60 psi, but you can always crank them up a bit to 100 PSI.

You just sacrifice duty cycle a bit ....

10.6 GPM at 100 PSI will equal most gas powered pumps in flow, and exceed some too.

Our high flow pumps and big hose, and addition of TSP lets us clean at weaker mixture strengths, saving us money, and insuring the roofs granules will not be removed.

Chris,
For awhile Delco's was the only board I thought existed. Everything has come a long way since I was first exposed to this industry. Keep up the good work, man.

Thanks Ken!
I think I stayed too long over at Delco ?
I was reluctant to leave because all my local friends still hang out there.
By the time I actually did leave Delco, I was amazed at all the "new" people on these other boards.

It's been great, and I have made a lot of new friends, but we still visit Delco often.

It is nice to have many boards to exchange idea's on, and this I think makes us all better at what we do.
