Water damage has the potential to destroy or weaken the structure of a home or building fast unless you take immediate action. The cleanup is only one step in the process. Having removed the standing water from the floors, walls and ceiling. The next step is to discard anything that can’t be salvaged such as wet boxes, pressed wood furniture and some clothing. Remember to always make a list and take pictures of anything that can’t be saved for your insurance claim. After we have determined that all the water is removed with the help of our meters and cameras we can begin the drying process. Water damage lowers the value of your home too. Water damage can be an eyesore. It is hard to paint over. An inspector can spot and will document water damage if not properly addressed. Potential buyers will offer you less money or worse, not consider buying your home at all.

Water damage restoration is among the most complicated treatments that most houses ultimately experience. Homes that were mostly constructed with timber are specifically prone to major water damage since soaked wood and sheetrock produce ideal conditions for mold growth.
The most important thing is the restoration company you hired should be licensed and all the people who are involve in the fire damage restoration process must be insured. It is not just of the safety purpose but also because according to law the water damage restoration company must be licensed.
The inspection of the damage begins with the repairing process. A team of professionals evaluate the total damage, the situation and which parts of the construction have been most affected by the water.

Tips for Water Damage

Water damage is one of the most common emergency-type issues that a homeowner can experience. Protect you and your family while preventing further damage with these water damage tips.

To Do:
1. Assess the affected area. Your safety is paramount. Be very aware of your surroundings — slipping hazards, electrical hazards, and health hazards may be present. When in doubt, do not enter the damaged area.
2. Shut off the water source to the house if needed. The utility department or the local fire department can help or you can contact Stanley Restoration.
3. Contact a professional restoration company with a reliable reputation.

Do Not:
1. Do not attempt to deal with a major water damage yourself. Shop vacs and household fans will not remove large amounts of water efficiency and will only cause the damage to worsen over time. Bacteria, odors, and mold can begin forming as materials such as carpet, carpet pad, studs, insulation, and drywall remain saturated.
2. Do not attempt to operate or remove any type of electronic device such as TV’s, etc.
3. Do not attempt to lift water-logged items. Saturated items are deceptively heavy and could cause injury.
4. Do not cross-contaminate. If you are not certain if the water source or water is clean, please do not remove items from this area or walk in this area. You could cause additional areas to become affected.

I agree that water damage is the toughest cleaning job out there and it's important to hire a company that is certified with license and insurance. My question is what is the best way verify a company has sufficient insurance licensing. For instance this water damage restoration company does not say its has insurance at all on it website. http://littlerock24.com/ Besides calling them and asking, how else would I verify a companies credentials?

Do It The Professional Way

Make sure you do not flip it on till all the water dries. Water alone typically does not destroy natural philosophy, it's simply that water shorts out the chips as a result of it permits electricity to flow down methods it is not meant to. this can be extremely importat. do not flip it on till it dries.

Water Damage

Reestablishing your home to liveable, pre-harm conditions includes water expulsion, disinfecting, and drying.

In instances of water damage it's critical to act quick. Standing water and dampness make the ideal condition for microscopic organisms and mold. Drawn out presentation to a situation like this can prompt hypersensitive responses and even sickness.
