What can cause these gray / shadowy stains? It looks like something happened and then someone maybe cleaned it and thus it looks shadowy. However, I am guessing here.

It's in almost every drawer and cabinet of the kitchen.

So, what happened to make these stains?

Yeah these types of spots can be seen everywhere and not easy to remove them. I think we should paint again on wood so that spot will hide.
